Teraco recently launched free access in its data centres to its Network Exchange Point named NAPAfrica. NAPAfrica provides for a carrier neutral Layer 2 Internet exchange point (IXP) in the southern African region, providing high-capacity multimegabit links (up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet) between the various global and local network operators. AFRICA INX provides access to NAPAfrica and any provider on NAPAfrica can also access the AFRICA INX free of port charges. This broadens access even more and opens the market for lower cost NNIs.
