Africa INX provide a network that encourages peering between different license holders. However in the situation where an organisation cannot peer, due to technical or commercial reasons, Africa INX will provide low cost transit services to all networks on the South Africa Internet, in Cape Town or Johannesburg.

Africa INX believe that it is essential to drive down the cost of local transit Internet bandwidth in South Africa.

This is achieved by:

  • Buying larger amounts of Transit capacity, through the aggregate buying power of our ISP clients, and as a consequence lowering the overall rate that all ISP’s purchase transit for on the Africa INX Network.
  • By ensuring that as much capacity as possible is driven through peering, and not expensive local transit services, the overall cost of Local Transit bandwidth are reduced.

Africa INX provides local transit at 2 Mbps increments, available in Cape Town and Gauteng.
